Boo-It-Yourself
If you really want a crowd stopper and you have a video camera, try this.
Step 1: Get a Face!
Paint your face, or put on a mask, or just use your plain ole' face.
The effect is only enhanced by the style of head you use.
Make-up need not be extravagant. Below, Mike is just painting on
some green and black. He also threw in some fake teeth.
Paint up your face. Here's your chance
to get as creative as you like. You can also
go simple and easy
Step 2: Black wraps
Wrap a black cloth around your shoulders so nothing shows but your head.
Sit or stand in front of something that is black. (You can hang more black cloth
or even use black posterboard.) The area need not be large, only enough to
surround your head.
Mike is covered in black and sitting in front
of black cloth. Note that we over-exposed this photo
so that you can see the black material.
The objective ultimately is to hide (under-expose)
all of this material.
Step 3a: Video Tape your face
Video tape your face while you spout out scary sayings or taunts.
Be careful to look directly into the camera lense. Hopefully you can get a friend
to help tape you. Make sure the camera's exposure (light intake) is set
so that the black cloth disappears but your face remains.
Step 3b: Say something!
You need to speak while taping. Come up with your own scary lines, or, if you
just can't think of any, here's some
MONSTER LINES for you. MEMORIZE and
IMPROVIZE! If you read the script while taping it will look like you are reading
something and not looking at the audience. THAT'S JUST NOT SCARY! Once you
start talking, don't be shy...let it rip! You'll be shocked at how you will warm up
and start having fun and rambling out amazing one-liners that seemingly
come out-of-nowhere!
Step 4: Playback
When you playback the video at night, it will appear you have a disembodied head!
And if you place your TV in front of a window on Halloween, trick-or-treaters will think
there is a head appearing in the darkness!
Night time results!
Place TV in window.
You can also do other amazing tricks:

Make a Head Float Mid-Air

Make a Monster Portrait

You can also use pre-recorded monster heads on "BigScreamTV" DVDs.
MONSTER LINES

Is there someone out there? Is there some one at the door? Ohhhh. Children.
I love children. Come closer...closer...CLOSER children! Don't worry. I won't
bite...hard. Mooohoohooohaahaaahaaaaa. We'd like to have you for dinner.
